It's 2008. I'm 14 years old. I decide to sit down and write what will become my first honest to goodness short film. It's called ZERO G. It's 16 pages. I read it back to myself. I throw it out.
Now it's 2010. I'm 15. I try again. Still pretty bad, but here we are...

This is essentially the second draft of my first official short film. It's terrible, but I want to have it up here not only as a mark of where I started. But also as a look at what the movie could have been. Some things are better, some things are way worse. There never really was a "third draft" to this movie. I more or less realized as we were shooting that actors weren't showing up, plans were falling through and I over all needed to change things. I actually wrote up new pages the night before shooting some times.

Some notable differences:
  • Logan has more screen time.
  • Rex is an asshole.
  • Rex has a girlfriend named Vicky. She was cut from the movie when the actor dropped out.
  • The electrician character (nicknamed "Voltage" in the script) is not divorced and is actually in a great relationship. This was changed for time.
  • There is a scene that involves an ambulance. The only reason we did not get access to one is because the characters "take the lord's name in vein".
    I'm not joking. That happened.
  • There is an extended third act that includes a showdown between Rex and Voltage. We mostly shot the whole thing for the original cut.
  • After credits scene to lead into the sequel that never happened.
