Earlier today I tweeted out that I had finished the script for "The Legend of Daniel". As promised, I'm now going to deliver more details.
So, if you haven't been following along thus far, "Daniel" is the next short film I'm working on. I specified in my announcement post that it is a drama with subtle comedy worked in and that it is a done in a different medium. Now at this point, I have said nothing about this medium or what the core of the film is really about. I think it is time I let you know these things.
First of all, the film is a narrated story about the everyday thoughts of a man named Daniel. When his life begins to take a twist his thoughts begin to consist of darker themes such as questions of faith, the value of his own life, suicide and the social implications of being strange. All of this will be done with sock puppets...
The image above is your first look at Daniel. This is not a still from the film. We have yet to shoot it. The story will be narrated by the voice of Tori Kamal and will also feature the voices of Izzy Moon and Jamie Zin.
As I said, I finished the screenplay today and have gotten a very good reaction thus far. I think that from a story telling side and a visual aspect this will be a great viewing experience for everyone. I hope that this will go over well and I see this having a November or December release date.
I hope with this new information you may look forward to this a bit more. And like always, there is more news to come.
I'm going to sleep now.
