It's been several months since I last updated this blog. So I think I might as well slap something together. I'm going to try to cover all the bases here.
LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT:
The first and most important piece of news is that I made a feature film. I've talked about this in a lot of different places so I won't waste too much time covering it here. In fact, I'll include an update video I made last month below this.
This is a short film written and directed by Jamie Zin. I'm producing and animating it and provided a voice for one of the characters. It's a really great short and I'm looking forward to releasing it. Not much else to say about that.
I've recorded a lot of podcasts this year. Mostly for the movie podcast. Go check them out.
ZERO G RE-CUT:
I think the last time I talked about this was over a year ago. I wanted to have it done for the fifth anniversary. Unfortunately, I've already missed the specific date (July 23rd). But I'm still aiming to have it done this year.
I hit a major set back when I reformatted my computer and did an upgrade to OS X Yosemite. Little did I know, it would require me to get a new version of iMovie (which I was editing Zero G on) and make all of my old files obsolete. Thanks, Apple! Guess who has a PC now!
Anyway, that meant I had to start the whole process from scratch. It was too bad. I had only done very basic cutting. I'm now up to that point again and I'm just getting ready to do some more work on it. I hope it'll be done by the end of the year.
I don't think this blog will be up here for much longer. I don't see a point in keeping it around. I do need to make some updates to this site. So I guess, as usual, I'll recommend that you start looking at the blog on IlluminationCinema.com and follow my Twitter or Facebook pages. You'll get updates that aren't 11 months apart.
That's all I've got. Catch you later!

Hey anybody who still reads this blog, I have a few things to plug on here.
Episode 6 is finally done and out. Not much to say about it that I haven't said already in other places. So just check it out here.
The Pink Elephant Podcast returned since my last update. Two new episodes have been posted to my personal YouTube channel. One of which is a "holiday special".
I neglected to mention last time that Chris and I started up a separate podcast for talking about movies simply called "Illumination Cinema Movie Podcast".
Both of these shows can be found on the IC website, HERE.
WISH YOU WERE HERE:
Speaking of things I never talked about on here, Chris did a short film back in August for the 48 Hour Film Project in Dallas. I co-wrote it and then several months later did a new edit and score for the film. It just went up on Friday. I think it turned out pretty good. Check it out here!
Holy shit! The last year has been exciting and then eventually turned horrible. I think it's safe to say that after May, nothing went quite according to plan. Getting cancelled caused us to announce Illumination Cinema much earlier than we wanted and created a lot of extra work for us. Episode 6's stupid schedule (or lack there of) caused a lot of extra stress. Then there were other elements of my life that had just spiraled out of control.
Thankfully that's all over now so we have a chance to get our shit together. It's kind of like I had an organized house and then some jerk ran in and wrecked the place. Now that all of that has past, it feels like I just came back to that house and I'm having to clean up the mess. It feels really weird not having anything that I have to be working on. I probably haven't had that feeling for almost 2 years since I started Brimstone. But I'll be filling that gap soon.
One major thing that I never really got figured out is how to manage the two websites. What ended up happening (and is probably for the best) is that I will be keeping the IC site up to date more than this one. Basically, expect posts like these where I quickly play catch up with a handful of releases. If you want something more direct, I'd suggest the Twitter or Facebook pages. This is more of a personal portfolio for now.
What lies ahead for us? Well, we have plenty in the pipeline. It's all just a little too early to talk about. Pretty soon I'll do some sort of update video where we talk about what to expect in the future.
That's all for now.

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve updated this site’s blog. I have of course been keeping the Illumination Cinema site up to date. However, the are a few things that I have not plugged on that site because they have more to do with me than the group. So lets get into everything.
This is pretty much old news to most people. But I’ll fill in the gap anyway. The remastered versions of episodes 1-5 have gone up on YouTube. The sixth and final episode has been in production since the end of May. Needless to say, its taken quite a while and still isn’t done yet. I myself have been at a stand still for the last couple months waiting on an additional animator to complete their segment. I’ve also ran into a bit of an issue as to how I’m going to finish editing the episode without going over budget. It’ll get figured out soon. I’m more than ready to get this thing over with and get it out.
At some point in the last couple months I made a little sketch video. It’s nothing special. It’s called “Funniest Man Alive”. You can see it HERE.
PINK ELEPHANT PODCAST:
We have plans to start making more episodes very soon. In the meantime, I’ve cut the old episodes into tolerably lengthed highlight reels. The 11 original episodes have been trimmed down into 3 “Greatest Hits” videos. I haven’t talked to Joey about it in a while, but we’ll be figuring out when we will be recording new episodes very soon.
I’ve done a bit of voice acting over the past couple months. Here are some things I’ve been in.
We have some new projects on the horizon. This is something we’ll be announcing on the IC website or YouTube channel sometime after the last episode of Brimstone comes out.
I believe that’s all for now.
-Tyler W. Moore
It hasn’t been that long. But as I said they would in the last update, things got all kinds of crazy. So where do I even begin? I guess I did post an update video. But I’m probably going to cover everything in that here and much more.
What the hell is happening:
Let’s set the stage. Brimstone Terrace had just been cancelled by Blip. So we put our back up plan into effect. We got in contact with the Channel Frederator Network (studio responsible for Adventure Time as well as Bee & Puppycat). Soon after they got back with us saying they would be happy to have us join them.
Here’s where the important stuff comes in. We decided since we were going to be making a new YouTube, we might as well announce our new film studio, Illumination Cinema. The YouTube mostly exists to facilitate the re-release of Brimstone, which I’ll talk more about later.
More importantly, we launched our website this morning, IlluminationCinema.com! Check it out.
I’ll be posting updates both here and there. So be sure to check back and forth. This site will just be more personal to me.
Speaking of this site! I gave it a little bit of a makeover. I decided it needed to be more of a personal portfolio. Hope you like it.
So what does the future hold for Brimstone? Spit it out already, damn it!:
Okay!!! Like I said before, we will be re-releasing every episode on the new YouTube channel. But, we aren’t just re-releasing them. We’re also completely remastering them.
Why would I need to remaster something you made a year/a few months ago? Well, file size used to be a minor concern when I was uploading to Blip. That’s no longer the case. I now have a better exporting method that I wanted to use before posting them up again. Also, I’ve gone back and fixed a couple errors. Mostly continuity stuff that bothered me a lot.
Starting in the next couple weeks (once everything’s been fixed up) we will begin the re-releases with an episode posted every week. I’m hoping to possibly have Episode 6 come out the week after Episode 5 goes up on YouTube. But there may be a bit of time in between them.
Like I said, this episode is a massive undertaking and we’re doing the best we can to do it as fast as possible without sacrificing quality.
What else is going on?:
Speaking of re-releases! Remember back in 2012 when I had to take a bunch of videos down? You don’t remember!? Well, I did! Now that some time has passed and we’re all 20, I’m able to put them back online. Well, at least the ones I want to put back online. You can check them out here:
But I have one last important video that I’m doing something a special for...
As a side project, I have started re-editing my first short film “Zero G” from 2010. Don’t get me wrong, re-editing it won’t make it good. But it will be more bearable to watch. Another reason I opted for re-editing the film is because there no longer exists a decent file for the original cut. The only thing that still remains from the original cut is a low quality file that I downloaded and saved on a flashdrive before deleting it from the internet.
For this new cut, I’ve brought in the footage from my old DV tapes (which haven’t aged well) and slightly abridging the original film for a more cohesive, flowing story. The original was 30 minutes. This cut will probably be 15-20. It will feature, a new opening narration (seeing as the original is lost), new visual fx, new sound design and a new score. It should all be very fun to do.
I don’t know how long this will take. But I’m going to take my time and enjoy it.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Be sure to check out the new website and subscribe to the new YouTube channel to see the re-releases and eventually, Episode 6.
-Tyler W. Moore
As the title of the post dictates, Episode 5 is now up on Blip! I mentioned this in the Episode 4 commentary, but don’t expect this new episode to be on the same scale as the last two. At least in terms of length. We decided it would be wise to reel back a little bit, make this more of a comedy episode and have it be a calm before the storm.
And what a storm it will be! We actually finished Episode 5 almost a week ago so I’ve spent that time getting a head start on Episode 6. If you don’t already know, Episode 6 is the season finale. So naturally, it’s going to be pretty packed with content, wrapping a lot of stuff up. The script is around 45ish pages which is about double the length of a regular episode. I don’t know how long the episode will be when it’s all done. But I’m pretty excited for this one. Due to it being the longest and most challenging episode, I sort of have to do nothing but focus on this. I might try to do a podcast during production, but we’ll see how that goes (more on that later).
We have gameplan set out and I hope everything goes according to plan. It’s been a long, challenging project. Hopefully in the end it will all be worth it.
Some of you reading this might be thinking, why haven’t I talked about the whole “getting cancelled” thing that I tweeted about. I’m going to cover that in a separate post. Rest assured. This is only a minor setback for us. We have a plan B.
So, there might be some other questions hanging in the air.
How did we do at AOFA?
I don’t know. From what I’ve been told, the pilot was well received. We were supposed to be told what the top ranking films were a couple days ago, but that didn’t happen. So we’ll see. Fingers crossed.
What’s going on with the podcast?
Again, I kind of don’t know. Most of the episodes are down right now because Joey hasn’t renewed our Pro account on Soundcloud. He’s talked about working out a solution, but it has yet to happen. I’m ready to get things fixed and get another episode out, but that isn’t up to me right now. If the Soundcloud wasn’t in disrepair at the moment, I would have just hosted an episode myself. Right now, it’s just a waiting game. We’ll see what Joey’s plans are.
On one last note, after this first season of Brimstone Terrace is complete, there will be some changes coming up. With pretty much everything. This website will look and be ran very differently. Right now, we’re just waiting for the right time to announce everything. Just expect changes.
That’s all for now children.

I haven't done an actual update in a while. So what have I been up to in all this time?
I'm pretty sure I mentioned that I was moving in the previous post. So now I'm mostly done with that. I swear man, I haven't had a single day where I could just relax. If I'm not unpacking, I'm animating, if I'm not animating I'm at work, if I'm not doing any of those things I'm getting a bit of sleep.
And work! Holy shit! Work! I transferred from the store I worked at to the one in the city I now live in. I used to get about 8 hours a week, which was stupid. Now I get 8 hour days and only one day off. Which is also stupid. "But Tyler, you're making more money! Life is all about money!" No. Time is more valuable to me than money to me. So I'm sort of wishing I had a middle ground to make up for all the work on animation that I can't do. I realize these are totally first world problems. Right now I just need a bit of balance to reach my ideal situation until I eventually change things up.
I've been working on Episode 5 obviously. It was going great. Then I moved. I've been trying to make up for all the time I've lost but it's hard when I'm not totally settled yet. I've gotten 2 out of 7 scenes animated. So it's been a very slow process an it's kind of bumming me out. Hopefully I'll get some more time and things will pick up.
Want a still or something? Well, here's a still or something.
But something pretty cool happened which I don't think I mentioned on the website yet. Brimstone Terrace's pilot is a selection in the American Online Film Awards. It's pretty cool. They're currently having their Spring Showcase in which people can watch and rate films. If you want to help us get some sweet ratings you can see us HERE. You will need a screening pass unfortunately. But if you go HERE you can get a discounted one for 3$. You can help us have a chance at an Audience Award or something and check out some other films as well.
Also in Brimstone news, I posted the commentary for Episode 4 featuring Chris and I. Watch that HERE.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Like I said, I've been super busy so I haven't had much time to do anything else. I'm trying to get the next podcast to happen but that's not 100% up to me. Hopefully that will happen soon.
I talk about almost all of this in a little update video. You can watch it here...
Catch you later everyone!
-Tyler W. Moore
Back in 2011, I decided I needed some designated studio space to shoot and generally work on some of my projects. So I took it upon myself to clean up my old shitty garage and turn it into just that.
Almost three years have past since then and now I’m moving away from my childhood home. Unfortunately where I’m going I won’t have a studio space anymore. But I can take trading that for feeling safe in my own home.
I’ve made quite a few things in here whether it be a place to make props, shoot on a greenscreen or build a set. I even recorded the first few episodes of The Pink Elephant Podcast from there.
You can see The Grindhouse being put to use in such films as The Legend of Daniel, K.G.A.G.P. and Left to Burn.
Why have I given it the name of “The Grindhouse”? Mostly because I’ve used while under the “Grindhouse Films” label. Also because it often looks like it’s owned by a serial killer.
It was constantly a dreadful mess. Full of dirt, spiders and old car parts. It always made people who weren't used to being in it uncomfortable. But, it served it's purpose while it lasted.
I’m going to miss this home (sort of) away from home. Hopefully some time in the not so distant future, it can be replaced with something better.
-Tyler W. Moore
Surprise! While making Episode 4, we put together a little behind scenes video about making the show. It has interviews with myself, Tori Kamal, Lacie Wallace, Christopher Strong and not Jamie Zin. Give that a look HERE!
We also recently made a new edition of Pink Elephant Indie Radio! Listen to that HERE!
Not much else other than that.
-Tyler W. Moore
That's right! Episode 4 of Brimstone Terrace has made it's way to the internet. You can watch it HERE.
I've probably said this a billion times now, but this is my favorite episode. It's the first time we actually had some time to set aside for something more thematic and I think it worked.
In other Brimstone news, the commentary for "Devil's Advocate" went up a few days ago. You can see that HERE.
Also, I think I may have prematurely announce a new episode of the podcast. It was supposed to be recorded this week. I don't know what happened. I'll let you know when that comes out.
Hope you enjoy the new episode! Thanks for watching!
-Tyler W. Moore
Decided this would be a good time to pop in and say that Episode 4 is nearing completion. Things have been pretty slow lately, but I'm hoping in a couple weeks I'll have some good news.
In other Brimstone news, we recorded the Episode 3 commentary. I just haven't put it together and posted it yet. I'm too busy at the moment.
In other other news, we recently put out a new episode of The Pink Elephant Podcast! I've been trying super hard to get one episode out every two weeks. But we ended up totally skipping a deadline due to Joey being ill as always.
In this episode we talk about the Oscars, how we handle improv, the new Godzilla film and Twitter snobbery. I think it turned out pretty solid. Give it a listen on Soundcloud or iTunes.
That's all I've got for now. But, as I usually do, I'll leave you with a still.
