MILK

Written Commentary:

This is an idea I had in late 2010. I actually shot this back in that December when I first got this current camera. But I ended up scrapping it for reasons I can't remember. Later that month I had come up with a different iteration, where me and my friend Tyler Rackleff would both go to the store for milk and there would only be one left. Then we proceed to have an epic chase and then the ending happens. Well...we sort of did that. I ended up changing it last minute to make it where our current girlfriends would be in on it. That version was shot, edited and posted. But it's not up anymore. It's a whole other story, but the fact is, it was a solid concept that got weighed down and turned out no good.
Fast forward to now. I kind of had this idea (the original version) on my possible idea list for a little while. Since I didn't have much else I could do at the moment, I decided to shoot this one because it would be easy.
A few things I can note are...
  • I shot this in a matter of hours all by myself.
  • It was way too hot to be wearing that jacket. But I had to because I already shot everything with the jacket on.
  • From the 3 times I shot this sketch, I've wasted 1.5 gallons of milk.
  • The shot with the cricket was not planned. I saw milk running down the crack and quickly set up the shot. As soon as I started recording a milk covered cricket jumped out of the crack. I would have included it jumping out in the final cut, however, there is a small twitch on the camera and it would have messed up the pacing.
I think that's about all I can say on this one.
I don't think it's all that great. But I like aspects of it and I think it was well worth the time and minimal effort.
