This is a complete list of every project I have ever worked on (that I can remember). Most of these are no longer available in any form for various reasons.
- "Sun Super Nova (Part 1)" (2006): The first video I set out to do with my creative partner Theodore J. Kowalsky (aka Kyle). Although we never actually finished it, the first part of this animated atrocity was released on November 13th, 2006. It was a short about the sun exploding. Then it becomes totally incoherent.
(Director/Co-Writer/Animator) - "Mascot Debate" (2006): All I remember from this one is that Kyle and I wanted to give our production company a mascot. We came up with a couple ideas and couldn't decide which one we wanted. So we made a cartoon where there was a debate about which one it should be. I think it was between a panda and a penguin. There was a poll along with it. We ended up diverting away from it completely and temporarily going with a wolf character (our logo up to 2010 was the wolf's green eyes). The cartoon was complete nonsense.
(Co-Director/Animator) - "Senseless Violence (Part 1)" (2007): A common trend you will see in the early years of this list is unfinished projects. This was the first part in a trilogy of animated shorts devised by Kyle. It was meant to be a bunch of kid friendly characters (Smurfs, Curious George, etc.) teaming up with more R-rated characters (Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, etc.) and going to all out war on each other. Think "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" but in narrative form. The first part is just about our lead anti-hero, Binky Smurf, turning bad and beginning what would lead to a big battle in the next part. I even coded a little companion Pac-Man game, replacing Pac-Man and the ghosts with the characters from the short.
(Producer/Animator) - "Darts" (2007): An animation where a guy accidentally throws a dart into his friend's head.
(Director/Animator) - "Dork Vader" (2007): Meant as a pilot for a live action series. Dork Vader was a very uninspired parody featuring Kyle in a Darth Vader helmet. We never actually did anything with it in terms of comedy. The first episode was meant as an origin story. But we never continued it. There was also an unfinished animated pilot. It of course never saw the light of day.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Penguins" (2007): I vividly remember Penguins being the second short Kyle and I wrote together. We did it using lame jokes we made while watching "March of the Penguins" in a science class. It was our first fully completed animation. It featured a father penguin, who was watching his egg, getting hungry and deciding to eat the egg.
(Director/Co-Writer/Animator) - "Kyle Vs. Tyler" (2007): Experimenting a bit more with live action, Kyle and I made a small fight scene video where we basically put on masks and had a fight with baseball bats. It was pretty dumb, but we had all sorts of plans at the time to make it into a series and increase the scale each time. It didn't happen.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Kyle Claus" (2007): A quickly slapped together Christmas video where Kyle is supposed to be a mall Santa. I can literally remember nothing else about it except for a part where a kid pees on him. I think we filmed this at school during our lunch period so we had literally five minutes to throw it together.
(Co-Writer/Editor) - "How The Josh Stole Christmas" (2007): Another quickly slapped together Christmas video, this time animated, which is obviously a parody of The Grinch. Other than that, I also remember nothing about this one.
(Director/Co-Writer/Animator) - "Mike & Carl" (2008): This was a short sketch where Kyle and I were being pranked by "Mike and Carl" two people who "worked for us".
- "Earth Day" (2008): A 30 second short in which the Earth explodes and it switches to "Mars Day". The joke wasn't funny.
(Director/Animator) - "The Chronicles of Bob" (2008): An animated series written and directed by Kyle, Chronicles of Bob begins following a crudely animated stick figure working his way up in the world with petty crimes until he gets roped into an organization of some sort. I'm not quite sure what they do. But they are evil, I think. There were a total of 7 episodes.
(Producer/Animator) - "Kenny & Trooper: Utter Madness" (2008): This was an animated short that was pitched to us by David J. Cantu. It was meant to be the first episode in a series. Basically, it played out in a classic, Spy vs. Spy kind of scenario. Kenny and an anthropomorphic dog, Trooper duke it out in over the top cartoon violence. David presented it to Kyle as a flip book and Kyle insisted that I animated it. Regrettably, I didn't put much effort into it and it turned out pretty sub-par. Sorry, David. There was another episode written but never made. I still have the script for it and the flip book for the original.
(Producer/Animator) - "Kyle Learns To Use A Camera" (2008): In the same vein of "Kyle Vs Tyler" this was us experimenting with live action trying to define a comedic style. It's very all over the place and doesn't involve Kyle learning to use a camera at all (that being the whole joke of the video).
(Co-Director/Editor) - "The Bet" (2008): A video we made for Halloween, "The Bet" is about Kyle and I having a contest to see who could make the best horror movie. Both of them are totally abysmal and we leave it up to the audience to decide which one was better. Interestingly enough, this was a totally last minute idea. I had actually spent a couple months writing a Halloween short involving all of our friends only to have it not pan out. Kyle was still coming over the next day so I just told him that I would come up with something to replace it, which turned out to be this sketch. So I actually wrote both Kyle and I's "movies" in the video. When the results came in my "movie" won. Which wasn't supposed to happen. So at the end of the month we released a second video with us revealing the winner. We had made an alternate ending as well.
(Co-Director/Writer/Editor) - "The Chronicles of Bob: The Lost Episode" (2008): A 15 minute short film taking place within the events of the Chronicles of Bob series. I think it's about Bob taking revenge on the organization after they betray him...or something. I do however remember this being a very big project to take on. It's the first time I ever had a sleepless weekend just working on a project.
(Producer/Animator) - "K and T's The Night Before Christmas" (2008): It was a tradition to make quickly thrown together, piece of garbage, Christmas specials at this point. I can only vaguely remember what happens. It involved our entire group being together in animated form, to listen to a reading of The Night Before Christmas. However, Kyle loses the book and I have to tell it from memory and I make up something about Santa being evil. I think it was all done in rhyme. I don't know. It existed though.
(Director/Co-Writer/Animator) - "How To Make A Friend" (2009): This was the first video I made with my friends David and Shane for a multimedia class in high school. I think this where we were finally starting to get a defined style of humor and people were beginning to appreciate it. The video shows two extreme situations one involving "how not to make friends" where Shane gets beaten to death for not acknowledging someone saying hello and the other being "how to make a friend" where he does acknowledge him and the guy turns out to be a smug prick.
(Director/Co-Writer/Editor) - "Poetry" (2009): Another video made for class; David reads some kind of poem with a message about protecting the Earth and then kicks Shane's ass for not recycling.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Allergic" (2009): Shane has an allergic reaction to a bee sting and after not receiving medical assistance due to his friend's persistence, he dies. So naturally, his friends try to ditch his body.
(Co-Director/Co-Writer/Editor) - "Jolly Time With John" (2009): Another assignment; A sock puppet named Socko tries to seek assistance on how to deal with a bad day from his pal Jolly John and gets no help of any sort. The assignment was to make a children's show.
(Co-Director/Writer/Editor) - "Flat Stanley Begins" (2009): The assignment was to make a video featuring a Flat Stanley going on some sort of adventure. We decided to tell the story of how Stanley became flat and also became a detective for some reason (completely ignoring the source material). I have fond memories of this one even though the video is terrible.
(Writer/Editor) - "Tim: Transplant" (2009): This was a game made using the YouTube annotation system. After a night of hanging out with his friend, Tim gets abducted by a strange man who harvests Tim's organs to prolong the life of his sick dog. Tim must now get information to find the dog and get his organs back while only running off of his replacement parts which were taken from a raccoon. It was meant to be a series of three but was never continued after the first.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Renegade" (2009-2010): A series created by Kyle. A super soldier breaks out of a military base after learning what his true purpose is. After his only friend is killed in the process, he seeks revenge. Although the story was completely thought up by Kyle, he assigned me the task of writing every episode. Well, at least the ones that we did. The series was never finished due to a lack of time and man power. This was our largest scale live action project at the time. There were only 3 episodes released. Production on the fourth one had started but was halted due to all of the complications stated before.
(Producer/Writer/Editor/Composer) - "Tyler Narrates His Life" (2009): A very simple sketch video where I begin narrating everything I do out loud to Kyle.
(Director/Co-Writer/Editor) - "Chief n' Charlie" (2009): A pilot for an discontinued series that was a spiritual spin off to Jon CJ Graham's show "Arby n' the Chief". This is a very embarrassing addition to the list and I could possibly blame Kyle since he was the mastermind of the project. But that would be a load of crap seeing as I wanted to do it just as much as him at the time.
(Producer/Co-Writer/Editor) - "Random Fight Movie" (2009): Literally called that because we had no idea what to name it. This was actually an unfinished short film that we were going to break up into parts over time. Sort of in the style of "Kyle Vs Tyler" in that we would up the scale with each installment. It's literally about a fight breaking out between Kyle and I that David constantly gets in the way of. Everything in it was improvised. There was only one part released.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Tape Worms" (2009): A dumb little short we made about Kyle having tapeworms in his stomach. It combined animation with live action. It wasn't that funny. But it existed.
(Animator/Editor) - "Canadian Zombies In America" (2009): I'm not quite sure what we were trying to do here. I guess that's the point because the whole video is very random. Setting itself in a very "I Am Legend" type environment our idiotic main character leads us through the "zombie apocalypse". Most of the jokes involved him shooting his friend over and over again.
(Director/Co-Writer/Editor) - "Night of the Living Junk" (2009): Another YouTube annotation game where you play as Everett who is being haunted by appliances and toys around his house.
(Director/Editor) - "Tyler's Top 10" (2009-2010): Cringey horror film reviews I'd produce twice a week each Halloween for two years. Thinking about it makes me want to blow my head off. No scripts, you guys. I went in and just started talking. All of those videos are gone...forever. 21 episodes produced.
(I'm responsible for this) - "The Hand" (2009): Probably my biggest embarrassment. This video (luckily) falls just short of my criteria for being my first official short film. The Hand is about a kid who loses his hand while volunteering in a construction project with his friend. His disembodied limb comes to life and tries to kill him. The short is sort of a nod to the B-movies of the 50's. But it was bad for reasons it wasn't really meant to be as well. This was my first video to ever make it into a festival. Watching it on a big screen with an audience was the worst feeling I've probably ever had in my life at the time. I had to face some demons that night and ask myself if I really wanted to keep going with this whole "film thing". After a couple deep and meaningfuls with Kyle and David, I decided to press on.
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "Jeff's Job Interview" (2009): Another attempt to sort of re-invent our comedy style. This was supposed to bring us into a faster paced sketch comedy type style. It's basically just about a job interview with someone who asks ridiculous questions. We wrote a lot of sketches in this style, but it never really took off.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Prepare to Drop" (2009): An animated mini-series created by Kyle and I to be released at the same time as Halo 3: ODST. It was essentially four short sketch videos featuring ODST characters in "comedic" situations. It was awful.
(Co-Writer/Director/Animator/Composer) - "Tyler Plays Pretend...With Himself" (2009): A dumb sketch where I overact with such confidence its impressive.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "X-mas Team" (2009): Another pilot for a series that never happened. Meant to be an annual animated series, The Xmas Team was about a group of holiday themed characters taking on what ever evils were threatening Christmas. The pilot featured the team fighting Arnold Swarzenegger (who actually believes he is Mr. Freeze). Even though the second episode was completely animated, the audio wasn't completed in time for Christmas so we never bothered to finish it. A third episode was also written, but not produced. After that, we just lost interest.
(Writer/Director/Animator) - "Movie Trailer" (2010): David's idea to make a fake trailer for a movie called "It Was Over Here And Now Its Over There". This one has a couple gags that are still fairly funny.
(Co-Writer/Editor) - "Terminator: The Pizza Chronicles" (2010): A quick short we did where Kyle wants to eat some pizza with us but then returns to take revenge after we deny him of his beloved pizza.
(Co-Writer/Editor) - "A Secret Agent Story" (2010): A 30 second animation I made to get back into the groove of animating. A very serious secret agent is talking about how cool he is before getting smashed by a giant robot.
(Writer/Director/Animator) - "War Machine" (2010): Another animated short made to express our excitement for the nearing arrival of "Iron Man 2". Kyle and I get Iron Man suits and screw everything up while trying to be heroes.
(Director/Co-Writer/Animator) - "Tyler Calls Windows Tech Service" (2010): David and I improvised for 20 minutes in one take featuring myself calling Windows Tech Service, he was on the other end being totally ridiculous. I ended up trimming it down to 5 minutes once it was edited. It was never released back in the day, but I have it unlisted on my channel.
(Director/Editor) - "Tyler Hits Himself" (2010): Similar to "Tyler Plays Pretend...With Himself" this is another sketch I made on my own. This time about me coming from the future to warn myself to not watch Avatar because it's a piece of shit only to get hit by my own car. It was also pretty bad.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Phobia" (2010): A horror short I tried to make featuring Everett. Its essentially a lucid look at one of my greatest fears, home invasion. Definitely not great, lots of cliches, but there are a couple ideas in there where I can see what I was going for.
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "ZERO G" (2010): My first official short film. It's about a kid who has super powers becoming a superhero and screwing up big time. It was a cool little project at the time. The script I wrote back when I was 15 is a lot better than the movie turned out due to all of the compromises we faced. But for a 15/16 year old's first short film in 2010, in the middle of nowhere, it wasn't too bad. Still pretty bad though.
In 2012, the movie was lost. All I had left of it was a rough cut I had exported to show off before I made finishing touches and all of the original footage on DV tapes. So in 2014, I set out to re-cut and remaster the entire film and make it better than it was before. I still hope that I can one day find a flash drive with the original finished movie so it can exist as well. But that isn't very likely.
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "Road Rage" (2010): Another "horror" short. This one was made for a contest of some kind. We had a hard time shooting it so it came out totally incoherent. But its about a guy on a bike being chased by a homicidal maniac in a car while riding at night.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "The Pistol Duel" (2010): A small sketch involving my friend and I having a gentleman's duel.
(Director/Editor) - "How To Make A Bomb" (2010): A sketch I came up with while at the airport. If someone reads that sentence, I will now be on a no fly list. But it was because I had a bunch of random things in my pockets and had to put them in a tray. I wondered if I would get stopped for having too many ketchup packets or something. So that's where the idea came from and that's what it really turned out to be. Don't ask why I had ketchup in my pockets.
(Director/Writer/Editor) - "Behind the Fail" (2010): This was a pilot we created for a comedy series in which Kyle and I would show what happens when we aren't making films. The pilot involves our home being infested with marmosets. We tried really hard to push it forward, but the rest of the series never got made. Well, sort of. Two episodes I wrote were re-formatted and turned into "Conquest" and "K.G.A.G.P.".
(Co-Writer/Co-Director/Producer/Editor) - "Aftermath" (2010): After a bigger project fell through, we quickly put together a zombie short for a Halloween video that year. I recall it being a very fun shoot since we did it at night. The short itself wasn't destined to hold up considering we slapped it together in a few hours.
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "How a Man Carves a Pumpkin" (2010): Just a video where we smash a pumpkin with a hammer. Fucking stupid.
(Director/Editor) - "Action on the Field" (2010): A little video we slapped together about Everett being hunted by a sniper at a sports complex. It was never meant to be taken seriously, so it was fun to put together.
(Director/Editor) - "Apples" (2010): A weird comedy video we made where I beat Everett to death with an apple. It was weird.
(Director/Editor) - "Tyler's New Roommate" (2010): I talk to my dog as if he is my roommate. That's the joke.
(Director/Editor) - "The Milk Situation" (2010): A sketch that was actually sort of compromised to fit in my girlfriend at the time so it could be used as a sort of "birthday gift" for her mom. It was originally intended to be made featuring one person, but because the jokes now had to accommodate two characters, it killed any comedic timing. However, I remade it two years later as "Milk".
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Learn to Draw" (2011): I play a character named Todd who is doing an instructional video on drawing (even though he has the skill of an infant). This one was a favorite of a lot of friends. I've seen it so many times now I can't stand to watch it again.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Peach Problem" (2011): A quick improvised short between Kyle and I where I yell at him about being so selfish for not bring me some peaches from the kitchen. It looks like total crap because we didn't know how to light my dark house.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Talkin' 'Bout Life" (2011): Another improvised sketch where Kyle and I slowly slip into ghetto voices while having a deep n' meaningful conversation about life.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Enter Night" (2011): I had been trying to make this for a while, but failed multiple times. It was a vampire horror short film. The idea being, everything you know about them is wrong. Holy water, crucifixes, garlic; none of it works. Sunlight is the only thing that does. A bunch of teens get lured into an abandoned school and killed off. Except for one who is offered the gift of immortality in exchange for her humanity.
The final attempt to make it was for a school project, hence the "abandoned school". From what I remember there were a few cool scenes and I actually put a great deal of effort into making it look good. But alas, somethings aren't meant to be. We shot a couple scenes and ended up turning that in as our project. I don't have them and I doubt the school does either. Dust in the wind...
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "The Final Hit" (2011): A test film we actually shot in 2010 to test out my new camera at the time. It was a documentary style short following two hit men on what was unknown to them, their final job. This actually only isn't considered one of my official short films because we only followed an outline and there was no screenplay.
(Writer/Director/Editor/Composer) - "...And Justice For All" (2011): Yet another, "Things That Never Happened" story. In 2010, after completing ZERO G, I thought I was ready to make my first feature. Two losers are forced by the mafia to kidnap the president of the United States while dealing with their own personal issues. Kyle and I developed the story and I wrote the screenplay. In 2011, we were both going to produce and direct it with the usual team all together, plus a few new comers. We shot for one day and it fell right on its face. We couldn't get time to get everyone together and all the new comers weren't very trustworthy. We basically have one incomplete scene.
I tried to get it going again in 2012. However, this time, most of the KandT regulars were going away. There was interest from a few small production companies out in LA, but nothing really came of it. I met some great people though. Eventually, I had to call it quits because I was no longer happy with the script.
Maybe one day I'll resurrect this thing.
(Writer/Co-Director/Producer) - "Catsup" (2011): The best way I can describe it is "ketchup erotica".
(Co-Writer/Co-Director/Editor) - "Impossible" (2011): An improvised sketch about how I achieve the impossible and get m&m chocolate on my face.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Silver" (2011): I give my dog a pep talk after he doesn't win a gold medal. I made it in about an hour.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Legos" (2011): A short made by Everett and I where I act like a total brat while he tries to have fun with his lego. I know the plural of "lego" doesn't have an "s", OKAY!?
(Co-Writer/Co-Director/Editor) - "Time for Tea" (2011): Another short by Everett and I about him bringing me tea that is not to my satisfaction.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Overdue" (2011): A sketch by my friend Tyler R. and I. He's sitting at home minding his own business when a man from the video store bursts into his home like a bounty hunter and shoots him for not returning his movie.
(Co-Writer/Director/Editor) - "Doug" (2011): A crowning achievement. The start of a running joke. One of my favorites to watch people see for the first time. It won me the Oscars for Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Visual Effects. It got snubbed for Best Picture though.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "IRS" (2011): A sketch by Kyle where we are IRS agents coming to collect payments.
(Editor) - "That Face" (2011): An improvised short by Kyle and I about me just wanting some love.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Tyler Loves Emma Stone" (2011): Following the "Jim Carrey Loves Emma Stone" video, everyone was doing parodies of it. This is one of the few times we jumped on a bandwagon. It was pretty dumb.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "The Russian" (2011): Kyle plays a Russian immigrant who does a bunch of inappropriate catcalling with his co-worker. Mostly improvised.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Tyler's Vlog" (2011): A sketch about me trying to make a vlog and getting kidnapped on camera. This one was actually pretty funny. However, some of the jokes are a little outdated, so it would be weird to re-upload.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Fortnight" (2011): An improvised short where Kyle and Kevin pop in to see me working on the new studio space only to do "some hood rat shit".
(Co-Director/Editor) - "Boogles & Shnookems" (2011): This is an unfinished pilot that Kevin and I made. It was supposed to be the start of an irreverent sock puppet webshow. In hindsight, the jokes weren't all that funny. We also shot it all on greenscreen and ended up doing it all wrong. The process of making it made us not want to continue. However, the puppets were re-purposed for THE LEGEND OF DANIEL. The rest is history.
(Co-Writer/Co-Director/Producer/Editor/Composer) - "Shaving" (2011): A sketch I put no time into that everyone seemed to love at the time. I literally did bad impressions and made silly faces in the mirror. Fuck this sketch.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Hide & Seek" (2011): This however, is one of my favorite sketches I've done. Kevin and I play hide and seek and if you haven't seen it, I will say no more.
(Writer/Director/Co-Editor) - "Do You Hear That?" (2011): A dumb little video we put together as bonus content for our website.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET" (2011): My second official short film. A little boy sees monsters in his closet but his father doesn't believe him. Much better on paper than it was when we actually made it. But I feel like it was a major step up in quality for me at the time.
(Co-Writer/Director/Producer/Editor/Composer) - "The Baby" (2011): The last sketch I made under the "KandT" banner before we disbanded. It was pretty stupid and made very quickly.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Tyler Hates Snow" (2012): A sketch I made just for the sake of making something. It was at an awkward point after KandT had just come to an end and I just needed to put something together to get myself back in a creative mood. I also really do hate snow.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Burglar" (2012): My first animation in ages. A 30 second clip about a burglar trying to think of a clever way to break into a house.
(Writer/Director/Animator) - "Bug Exterminators" (2012): Another animation; this time about two bug exterminators who handle their work as if they are police officers. Fun Fact: This is the first video to feature Lacie Wallace.
(Writer/Director/Animator) - "Drawing with Tyler" (2012): A fifteen episode series about me drawing bad portraits of people. That was the joke...fifteen times. I think the first few episodes are kinda funny but I ran out of ideas pretty fast. I only continued because I was getting such a good response for a while. I got tired of it very fast.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Shakespeare" (2012): A sketch by David and I about two dudes who are super psyched to go see the Shakespeare show in town.
(Co-Writer/Co-Director/Editor) - "The Mutual Admiration Society" (2012-2013): A short lived podcast between Lacie, Jamie and I. We were never really pleased by the format. That and the fact that TMAS came at a very rough period in my life, where I was finding it hard to be entertaining. When The Pink Elephant came along a few months later (an unplanned venture), it became an improved version of this show.
(Co-Creator/Co-Host) - "Heartbreak" (2012): A little sketch made to kickstart a fortnightly release schedule for videos. I receive an email saying I've been broken up with and my heart literally breaks. That's the joke.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "A Peculiar Situation" (2012): A sequel to Doug featuring Everett and Kevin. It's even better than the first.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Conquest" (2012): A long form comedy sketch about Kevin and I picking up chicks. As I stated before it was meant to be an episode of "Behind the Fail". Some of the jokes are still kinda funny. The presentation is a little lacking though.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "MARRIAGE" (2012): My third official short film. Two people get married and things go south pretty fast. This one has held up fairly well considering what it's supposed to be.
(Writer/Director/Producer/Editor) - "Therapy" (2012): A sketch where I play two characters...two creepy characters. This one is okay.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Life in the Bag" (2012): Another sketch that I really don't understand the appeal of. Once again, it was quickly thrown together. I had done the punchline before in Hide & Seek. It was much better in that one. I just don't get it, I suppose.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Ghost Dog" (2012): An opus.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Milk" (2012): A remake of "The Milk Situation". It's about a man going to get some milk. I like this one for the most part. I feel that because it's so normal compared to most of my other work, it's a good introductory piece for most people.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Mug" (2012): I honestly don't even remember this one. I've seen myself talking about it before. This is about where it would have lined up with the other releases. Clearly it wasn't great seeing as I deleted it.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Scavenger Hunt" (2012): Another one of my favorites. I thought it would be a lot funnier than it turned out to be, but it actually turned out better with what it is now.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "THE LEGEND OF DANIEL" (2012): My fourth official short film. A dramatic piece about struggles with ambition and suicidal thoughts turned dark comedy by making it using only a voice over narration and sock puppet characters.
(Writer/Director/Producer/Editor) - "The Floor is Lava" (2012): A sketch featuring Lacie and I playing a game. I like the punchline of this one but I took way too long to get to it.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Blue Christmas" (2012): Probably my favorite sketch that I've ever done. It manages to be funny, sad and heart warming all in one. I'm very proud of this one. First time working with Miranda Nation.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Left to Burn" (2013): The third installment into the "Doug" series. Featuring Lacie Wallace.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Paper" (2013): A dumb sketch about me yelling at Kevin for getting the wrong paper...ha ha.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Pep Talk" (2013): This is one I finally agree with people on. Only because, even though its simple, there's actually some technique to it. I shouldn't bother explaining it.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "DELIRIUM" (2013): Another (failed) attempt at trying to make a feature. Nothing was shot of this one, but there is a little bit of public information on it, so I suppose I should address it. This movie was a psychological thriller about a young woman who is traumatized after finding out her parents were murdered. After ten years of therapy from an non-compassionate psychiatrist, she is forced to face the scene of the crime once more. This time, having a major negative effect on her.
This one did not happen for many reasons. We couldn't get the money together, problems with locations and dealing with a certain actors union that seems to hate small budget films. I wrote this movie right after THE LEGEND OF DANIEL fell on its face. I felt really bad about it. I had put my heart and soul into that one, showing a lot of honesty and it didn't really pay off. My take away was that no one wanted to see "weird dark comedies" from me. So I said "fuck you" to everyone and wrote this as an "easy sell". Horror movies are cheap and easy to make. My heart wasn't in it though. It was cynical through and through. I raised a bit of money on Indiegogo and then offered to return it or use the money on BRIMSTONE TERRACE. They allowed me to use it on Brimstone, bless their hearts. There were a few cool scenes in here, but I would have a hard time re-visiting it.
(Writer/Producer) - "The Pink Elephant Podcast" (2013-2015): Yet another podcast. When this one came along, I had just ended The Mutual Admiration Society and didn't think I was ready to jump right in to another one. However, this show was being run by Joey Crozier and I was invited on as a recurring guest. It got to the point where I was the only one besides him who was in every episode and I ended up adopting it as if it were my own. Halfway through our first year, I took over editing duties so that Joey could focus on schoolwork. We were frequently on hiatus from this show. Mostly because it was hard to set a time to record. It's dead at this point. I'd like to do one last episode, but it will probably never happen. A total of 18 episodes were produced.
(Co-Host/Producer/Editor) - "Smart" (2013): Kevin tries to prove to me that he's super smart.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "K.G.A.G.P." (2013): Although its very flawed, I'd consider this one of my better sketches. A spiritual sequel to "Conquest", this long form sketch follow Kevin and Tyler dealing with a past mistake Kevin made.
(Writer/Director/Producer/Editor) - "Bane Vlogs" (2013): The story is, I was a staff writer for a terrible show that will never come out. This was around that horrible period of time where everyone thought it was hilarious to grab a cup and do a Bane impression (the one from "The Dark Knight Rises" of course). In one of the meetings, someone asked me if I could do the voice. I did it and began rambling on about conspiracy theories. The producer of the show I was writing for thought it was so funny, that he decided talked to some people at a major YouTube network he had connections with (a shitty company that will go unnamed) and they wanted us to do a pilot episode. So this is the result. Almost immediately after finishing the video, I knew I wouldn't be able to do more. Mostly a time conflict due to my obligations with "Brimstone Terrace", but also because I didn't want to keep making them. There really wasn't much quality material there and the fad was going to die soon anyway.
(Co-Creator/Writer/Director/Editor) - "BRIMSTONE TERRACE" (2013-2015): An animated mini-series about a guy dealing with life in Hell. This was probably one of the most challenging, yet rewarding experiences I've had working on anything. The pilot took the award for "Best American TV or Web Series" in the American Online Film Awards.
(Writer/Director/Executive Producer/Animator) - "Living With Puppets" (2013): A sketch Everett and I put together about Everett living in a house full of wacky, fun loving puppets.
(Writer/Director/Editor) - "Ruining the Illusion: The Making of Brimstone Terrace" (2014): A behind the scenes documentary made during the production of the fourth episode of Brimstone Terrace.
(Director/Producer/Editor) - "Funniest Man Alive" (2014): An improvised sketch about me being the funniest man alive. The title says it all, really. I mean, are you even paying attention!? Come on!
(Director/Editor) - "Illumination Cinema Movie Podcast" (2014- ): A movie podcast originally hosted by Chris and I (now with rotating hosts including everyone in IC). The longest running podcast so far. I don't see it coming to a close any time soon.
(Host/Producer/Editor) - "WISH YOU WERE HERE" (2014): A short film that we made for the Dallas 48 Hour Film competition. Chris and I quickly came up with the concept of two people evaluating their friendship after their mutual friend dies. After we blocked out the story, Chris wrote the first draft and I wrote the second, fleshing out the characters and improving the dialogue. A nice little short for something we made in 2 days.
(Co-Writer/Editor) - "What is Illumination Cinema!?" (2015): A little introductory video to our studio and who is in it.
(Co-Writer/Co-Director) - "LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT" (2016): My first feature film. I finally found the right story to tell. At the time, given all of my past work, it seemed to be the ultimate Tyler W. Moore feature idea. Or at least a good transitional piece from my sketch comedy background to dramatic features. This one is definitely a mix of both. During production, I wanted to make sure we handled everything as through it were a drama, but in writing and editing, I handled it as a comedy with a dark story. I don't know if it really works. I was upset with how it turned out when I first finished it. There are several things that could have been better. Over time, I'm growing to like it a bit more. It was a milestone and not a masterpiece.
(Writer/Director/Executive Producer/Editor) - "5 Years Later: Monsters in the Closet" (2016): Everett and I take a look back at MONSTERS IN THE CLOSET.
(Host/Editor) - "TIME LESS" (2016): One night, Jamie and I were sending each other scripts that we were never going to make and he sent me this one. I enjoyed it so much, that I told him we had to make it. That was near the end of 2014. After working slowly but surely on it over the course of two years, it was finally finished.
(Producer/Animator) - "RIP Jamie: A Serious Documentary" (2016): Contrary to the name, this was a joke. During the recording process for an upcoming feature film, we took a photo of Jamie Zin to various crew members and told them that he was dead.
(Should I really write credits for this?) - "5 Years Later: Marriage" (2017): Cantu and I revisit MARRIAGE.
(Host/Editor) - "Illumination Cinema: An Introduction" (2017): An updated version of "What is Illumination Cinema!?" featuring all the current members.
(Co-Director/Editor) - "ANOTHER DAY COLDER" (2017): A short film by Beth Christine that I had a great time making.
(Producer/Animator) - "5 Years Later: The Legend of Daniel" (2017): I revisit my final live action short film from the pre-IC days.
(Host/Editor) - "8 Years Later: Zero G" (2018): Better late than never, I revisit my first real live action short film and talk about the process of remastering the film.
(Host/Editor) - "FALLING OUT" (2018): A short film directed by David J. Cantu. Based on the fading internet celebrities of yesteryear and the struggles they are facing now.
(Writer/Producer/Editor) - "HOW MUCH" (2018): A short film by David Wayne Young. This one was mostly all David's. I just came in to touch up the script and help it get made.
(Co-Writer/Producer/Animator/Editor) - "THE BROKEN KEY" (2018): A short film by Fritz Robinson. I was brought on to design a monster, help with production and handle post-production.
(Assistant Director/Editor/Special FX) - "A SCRIPT CALLED MISERY" (2018- ): A comic written by me and illustrated by Beth Christine. This was originally written as a live action mini-series based on my time as a freelance writer and voice actor. We tried twice to get it made, but it just never happened. So we ultimately decided to make it a 5-issue comic series under Beth's control. She's done an excellent job so far and I can't wait to see how the rest turns out.
